Privacy Policy

I built The Kid Daily for my own family, so privacy isn't an afterthought — it's the whole point. This page explains what data we collect, what we don't, and how you can delete everything whenever you want.

What We Collect

  • Your email address, so you can sign in.
  • Your child's first name, so we can personalize their page.
  • Optionally, your child's birthday month and day — for their birthday countdown and horoscope. We never store the birth year.
  • A city, state, and country for weather. We convert this to approximate coordinates for the weather lookup — we never access your device's GPS or track your precise location.
  • First names and dates of family/friends you add for birthday countdowns.

What We Don't Collect

  • No last names of children.
  • No GPS data or device location tracking.
  • No browsing data, search history, or usage tracking on kid pages.
  • No photos, voice recordings, or biometric data.
  • No third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking scripts on kid pages.

How We Use Your Data

Everything we collect is used to build your child's daily page — and nothing else. Email for login, name for personalization, location for weather, birthdays for countdowns. That's the whole list.

Data Storage & Security

  • Your data is stored in Supabase (a hosted database). Each family's data is isolated — you can only see your own.
  • Sign-in uses magic links sent to your email. No passwords are stored.
  • All connections use HTTPS encryption.
  • We don't sell, share, or give your data to anyone. The one exception: we send the approximate coordinates of your weather locations to OpenWeatherMap to fetch the forecast — no names, emails, or other identifying info are included.

Children's Privacy

Only parents can create accounts and manage data. Children never enter personal information, create accounts, or interact with other users. There are no social features, chat, comments, or user-generated content on kid pages. We collect the bare minimum — a first name, and optionally a birthday month and day — and all of it is controlled by the parent through their dashboard.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in securely for 30 days. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies.

Data Deletion

You can delete your entire account and all associated data from your dashboard at any time. When you delete, everything goes — your profile, your children's profiles, locations, birthday lists. Nothing is retained.
